IJM Land celebrated another spectacular Chap Goh Mei with residents and visitors of Seremban 2 😉
Seremban, 10 February 2020 – It was a night to remember filled with fun and laughter for visitors who attended the recent Chap Goh Mei Festival held at City Park, Seremban 2, which was organised by esteemed developer IJM Land Berhad. With an evocative theme of “Reunion in S2 with Joys Anew” 《元宵团圆,喜乐年年》, IJM LAND sought to reunite residents and visitors with their loved ones during this auspicious season. The folks of Seremban and all those in attendance at the celebration were blown away by the exciting line-up of activities and performances IJM Land had put together. The night kicked off with an attractive cultural dance routine followed by Sekolah Menengah Jenis Kebangsaan Chan Wa’s remarkable 24 Seasons Drum, and a captivating modern acrobatic LED high-pole lion dance performance. Additionally, there were also many other amusing activities including live band acts, a special meet-and-greet session with internationally-acclaimed power couple of the year, Mickey and Minnie Mouse complete with surprise giveaways, mouth-watering street food bazaar and a game of Chinese riddles.
Yang Berhormat Tuan Anthony Loke Siew Fook, Minister of Transport Malaysia and Member of Parliament (Seremban) together with Mr Edward Chong Sin Kiat, Managing Director of IJM Land Berhad and Dato’ Hoo Kim See, Senior General Manager (Central Region) of IJM Land Berhad officiated the recent Chap Goh Mei 2020 event organised by IJM Land.

Dato’ Hoo Kim See, Senior General Manager (Central Region) of IJM Land Berhad said that the annual Chap Goh Mei event gives IJM staff members and residents the opportunity to forge bonds and a sense of trust whilst enjoying the gala of activities that were rolled out for the night. “We always look forward to celebrating this festive season with our residents at Seremban 2 as it is our way to engage and communicate with them – providing everyone with the best in development and services. It is our utmost priority to foster strong community relations through festive occasions similar to this, and living within a multiracial community, we are fortunate to be able to share such festivities with people of other cultures,” said Dato’ Hoo during the event.

This year’s Chap Goh Mei Festival also saw the attendance of notable guests including Yang Berhormat Tuan Anthony Loke Siew Fook, Minister of Transport Malaysia and Member of Parliament (Seremban) who officiated the event, EXCO members, ADUNs and many other Chinese Community leaders who took the time to spend the last day of Chinese New Year with the Seremban folks. As per tradition for the seventh consecutive year, guests were graced with an exceptional Chap Goh Mei concert by renowned ASTRO Chinese artistes and celebrities such as Jentzen, Phei Yong, Kien Ying, Yih Ching, Hua Hee Avengers including Hock Chye, Hsiao Ling and many others – performing their specially themed concert “Say Cheese, Fortune is Yours” which brought peals of laughter and joy to the audience.

Committed to their visitors and guests, IJM Land has also taken measures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the visitors such as the provision of hand sanitizers and face masks by IJM Land to all who attended the event. “Festivals such as these bring people of all races and background together – a worthwhile platform for the community to rejoice with their loved ones. We hope that by organising such events we can give every individual the opportunity to have a meaningful celebration, while ushering in a new year with a more refresh outlook and positive mind-set.” As the saying goes, festivals promote diversity and engage neighbours in dialogues, IJM Land is glad to have the community of Seremban 2 supporting and sharing this celebration of love and togetherness.
