Seremban, 20 January 2020 – As we are nearing an auspicious season, Malaysia’s leading developer IJM Land Berhad will be hosting its highly-anticipated annual Chap Goh Mei Celebration with the theme “Reunion in S2 with Joys Anew” 《元宵团圆，喜乐年年》on 8 February 2020. The Chap Goh Mei celebration became an annually awaited day for the vibrant and multi-racial folks of Seremban after six years in a row. Set to take place at the heart of IJM Land Berhad’s very own flagship development, Seremban 2’s City Park, visitors can look forward to an enjoyable lineup of cultural performances and dedicated photo zones with its endearing theme of “Mice in nice Flower Sea” [鼠与你 の 花海] along the immense park, which will bound to impress the people of Seremban.
Dato’ Hoo Kim See, Senior General Manager (Central Region) of IJM Land said that this celebration not only allows the esteemed developer to celebrate the prosperous season with the residents, it also enables them to engage with potential buyers and establish trust with the people who are looking into joining the community in Seremban 2. “This celebration will be a joyous one for the people of Seremban as we have worked hard to put together a special and meaningful event for them,” said Dato’ Hoo during the recent press conference of Chap Goh Mei Celebration announcement. “The Year of the Rat is said to bring an abundance of good health and wealth, therefore we wish to share this good fortune as we usher in this Chinese New Year with the community. We hope that through our efforts, we can bring people together and form wonderful memories among them.”
Visitors to the event can look forward to an array of spectacular performances to be set off at 7.45pm with a Cultural Dance. The stage will then be followed by Sekolah Menengah Jenis Kebangsaan Chan Wa’s 24 Seasons Drum, which is an art form that IJM Land wishes to reignite as it is part of the proud heritage and culture of the local Chinese community. The night will also see a game of Chinese riddles in an effort to keep the traditions of the Chinese culture alive amongst the younger generation, while sharing the joy with others as well. In addition, there will also be many other fun-packed activities throughout the night to keep visitors entertained as well as live band performances from 8pm – 8.30pm whereby visitors can take the opportunity to dedicate songs and send out messages to their loved ones.
As per tradition, this year’s Chap Goh Mei festival will once again be in collaboration with ASTRO Chinese artistes and celebrities including Jentzen, Phei Yong, Kien Ying, Yih Ching, Hua Hee Avengers such as Hock Chye, Hsiao Ling and many others, as they are all geared up to grace the Seremban 2 community with Astro’s special themed concert, “Say Cheese, Fortune is Yours.” To add to the festivities of the night, a performance of the acrobatic LED high-pole lion dance with a modern twist will be showcased. Attendees will also be able to stroll along the stunningly decorated park while taking Instagram-able shots at the dedicated photo zones such as Lovers Bridge, 3 Brothers’ Tower and many more dazzling displays. Not to forget there will also be a special meet-and-greet session with the internationally-acclaimed power couple of the year; Mickey and Minnie Mouse with surprise giveaways. The first 800 visitors will receive a festive gift at the redemption counter from 7pm onwards while stocks last and the event will culminate with a dazzling fireworks display at 11pm.
